Abstract

This research presents examples of the contributions of Spanish
orientalists in translating and verifying Arabic heritage books in
poetry and prose since the middle of the eighteenth century until
now. He stands at the most important stations that formed a
qualitative difference in the process of translating Arabic
heritage books and achieving them in Spanish Orientalism. This
paper raises questions about the beginning and evolution of
these individual efforts into a work sponsored by many
academic institutions. And it tries to reveal the reason for the
interest of the Spanish orientalists in translating traditional
Arabic texts, the quality of the texts that they were interested in
translating and publishing, and whether they had a solid school
in the investigation of manuscripts, such as the school of
German orientalists. The research in this presentation adheres to
the historical order of these contributions, beginning with the
oldest from the eighteenth century to the most recent of these
efforts today.
